License agreement
This agreement sets out how you may use Meow. Downloading, installing or using Meow means you accept it.
1. Who it's between
This agreement is between you and [seller legal name — to be added], the seller of Meow (“we”, “us”), and applies together with the terms of sale and use.
2. The license
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Meow on your own Macs, to operate your own WeChat account only. Meow and every version of it remain our intellectual property; you are buying a license to use it, not the software itself.
3. The free part
Downloading, installing and the dry run (reading chats and drafting replies without sending) are free with no time limit, and this agreement applies to them too. A paid license unlocks sending replies.
4. What each license includes
| 30 days | Sending for 30 days; up to 2 Macs; every version released during that time. |
|---|---|
| 365 days | Sending for 365 days; up to 2 Macs; every version released during that time. |
| Lifetime | No time limit; up to 3 Macs; every version released within 3 years of purchase (including versions that handle WeChat updates), and those versions keep working afterwards. Versions released after the 3 years aren't covered. |
5. Macs
“A Mac” means one computer on which the license is activated. At the limit, activating another Mac deactivates the one used least recently. You can deactivate a Mac in the app under Settings → License or on the license page.
6. The license check
When it activates, renews or deactivates, the app contacts our license server and sends the license key, a hash of the device ID, the Mac's name, the platform and the app version. In return it gets a signed lease tied to that Mac, which it verifies offline. Leases last up to 30 days for 30-day and 365-day licenses and up to 90 days for lifetime licenses, and the app renews them in the background. When a license ends or is revoked, or the Mac's clock has been turned back, the app stops sending and returns to dry run.
If we ever stop running the license server, we will give notice in advance and provide lifetime licenses with a way to keep working without online checks, so the versions promised in section 4 stay usable.
7. What is not allowed
- Reselling, renting, lending or publicly sharing a license key.
- Bypassing, altering or cracking the license check, or modifying the app to remove the AI signature.
- Reverse engineering the app, except where the law expressly allows it.
- Using it to operate a WeChat account that isn't yours or that you have no right to use.
- Bulk messaging, marketing campaigns, harassment, fraud, impersonating someone else, or any unlawful content or purpose.
8. Third parties
Meow is not affiliated with Tencent or WeChat. Using it isn't allowed by WeChat's terms, and that risk is yours (see account safety). The AI model comes from the provider you choose, under your own agreement with it and its charges. The app includes open-source components such as Node.js, each under its own license.
9. Warranty and liability
To the extent the law allows, Meow is provided as is. We don't promise that it will run without interruption or that the model's replies will be right, and it may stop working for a time after a WeChat update. Your statutory rights are not affected. Limits on liability are in section 12 of the terms.
10. Ending the license
You can stop using and delete Meow at any time. We may revoke your license after a refund, after a chargeback is decided against us, or if you break this agreement. After that you can keep using the free dry run, unless you broke section 7.
